Jets looking at Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator

The Jets are staying within the division to try and turn Sam Darnold into a franchise quarterback, and will turn to former Dolphins coach Adam Gase to be their next head coach, according to multiple reports. The former Green Bay Packers head coach has only interviewed with the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns thus far.

McCarthy's decision to skip coaching in 2019 came on the same day that his successor, Matt LaFleur, was introduced as the Packers' new head coach.

"I'll be locked and loaded and ready to go for next year", McCarthy explained to ESPN. "I think it tells you where they're at".

A person familiar with the decision told Associated Press that Gase has agreed to replace Todd Bowles, who was sacked by the Jets after he went 24-40 in four seasons.

Rhule is 8-17 in two years at Baylor, including a 7-6 mark and bowl win in 2018. And then again. "Stupid f***ing call!" Fans seem to be upset but there is no flawless hire.

He's got a career 125-77-2 record in the regular season with nine playoff appearances and 10 career playoff victories.

Potential openings next year could include the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As such, they're going retread AND division retread with their hire, scooping up Gase.

McCarthy, 55, said Wednesday that he will sit out the 2019 season.
