Netflix delivered a gift to USA viewers at the stroke of midnight, East Coast time, just as 2018 slipped into 2019, revealing the season 3 premiere date for the hit streaming show.
"Stranger Things 3" are the last words seen in the minute-long clip. It seemed likely that the release date would come soon after.
A new teaser video for the show's third season was released just before midnight EST. The video is filled with VHS tape tracking lines and even has warped audio. Mysterious interferences interrupt the broadcast, sending static onto the screen along with unusual messages like "when blue and yellow meet in the west".
You'll find out when Stranger Things returns for its third season on Thursday, July 4.
It's clear that the kids will be living life in 1985 once Season Three drops, but what kind of world will they be living in?
The teaser also contains a commercial for the Starcourt Mall, a setting which is expected to play a major role in the upcoming season.
"We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out", Ross Duffer told Vulture a year ago. "The truth is we're definitely going four seasons and there's very much the possibility of a fifth".
We're not sure what Stranger things has in store for us, but what we do know is that it's seven months away, so mark your calendars!
