The post is accompanied by the caption: "I just realised I'm not playing Spider-Man".

The Oscar nominee has given in and joined Instagram, and if his first post is any indication, we expect a ton of adorableness over the coming months.

The actor continued to fuel rumors he would be playing the comic book baddie when he was spotted over the summer in London, where the movie is being filmed.

Mysterio is a famous Spider-Man villain who first appeared in the comics back in 1964 and has never before been portrayed on the screen in any Marvel movies.

Regardless of what we're calling it, the costume is now on display as part of this weekend's CCXP convention in Brazil, and thanks to this up-close and official look at the outfit, the fan speculation has started anew.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed the 2019 sequel will take Peter Parker out of NY for a European adventure in London that will reflect the global aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. He is a special effects experts who uses his talents to commit crimes.

The main characters from Homecoming will all return, with Tom Holland of course reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya returning as Michelle Jones, and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned, while Marissa Tomei will also return as May Parker.

The actor officially joined Instagram on Wednesday and revealed he will be starring in the Spider-Man sequel.
