Just previous year it was up for drama series, supporting actress (Chrissy Metz), and actor (Sterling K. Brown, who won). Really, what might be more shocking is that this is Wu's first ever Globes nomination.

Isan Elba, daughter of Idris Elba, will be the 2019 Golden Globes Ambassador.

"Sandra and Andy are the flawless choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of Globes broadcaster NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday, adding they would bring "wit, charm and style" to the ceremony.

Earlier this year, actor Sterling K. Brown won a Golden Globe for his role in the NBC series "This Is Us", and the show also picked up a nomination in the best drama category.

We're excited to welcome Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg as co-hosts of Hollywood's Party of the Year.

Granted, the results of awards balloting can be largely symbolic, and are seldom the best way to measure progress.

Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz will also reignite their on-screen rivalry in the best supporting actress category, where both stars are nominated.

On the TV side, Amazon's "Homecoming" and Ryan Murphy's "Pose" may score nominations in their first eligible awards show. While Oh does not appear to have any past award show hosting credits, Samberg has hosted both the Independent Spirit Awards and the Emmys. Snub: Michael B. Jordan for Black Panther. The Marvel movie was critically acclaimed, but not everyone believed it would be a contender for major awards.

"Vice" director Adam McKay, who was also nominated, described the film as "an fantastic portrayal of power".

In the drama category, the competition includes two movies that explore racial injustice: If Beale Street Could Talk, and BlacKkKlansman.

The voters also gave a nomination for best actor in a comedy to Sacha Baron Cohen for his work in Showtime's "Who Is America?".

Several well-regarded movies failed to get any recognition from the HFPA, including Steve McQueen's Widows, Paul Schrader's First Reformed, and Chloe Zhao's The Rider. So were Better Call Saul, Black-ish, Maniac, and The Little Drummer Girl.

Indeed, during the 2018 show, actress Natalie Portman took the group to task for ignoring female directors pointedly saying from the dais, "And here are all the male nominees".

The Golden Globe nominations came down this morning and you guys, who is going to tell the HFPA that they forgot about Atlanta? Barbra Streisand won for her 1984 film, Yentl.
