Amazon is signing a deal with Apple to expand its collection of Cupertino's hardware. Shah added that almost one-third of Apple's sales in India come from the online channel, with Flipkart selling more iPhones than Amazon until now.
It won't be long before we see more Apple products available through Amazon. Industry watchers, however, said Amazon could easily circumvent the rule by making Cloudtail, an entity in which it owns 49 per cent, a certified reseller of Apple products.
Apple hasn't traditionally sold its brand-new devices through official channels on Amazon, but it would seem that's changing today. The new deal hopes to improve the quality of the products sold on Amazon at standard pricing. These companies will also have to be approved by Apple, which likely means they will have to become authorized Apple service providers as well. Apple has announced a fix program for affected devices with 128GB and 256GB of solid-state drives. Apple representatives did not immediately respond to a request for further comment on the deal. Select devices, like the HomePod won't be available on Amazon, because it directly competes with Amazon's Echo lineup.
The email also noted that sellers will also not be able to send shipments of these products to Amazon fulfillment centers from December 1, 2018.
One Apple product that you won't find on Amazon is the Home Pod smart speaker.
