Jose Mourinho: Some Manchester United players 'lack technical quality'

Jose Mourinho has suggested he can not say what he really thinks about the situation at Manchester United because it only gives detractors in the media something else to criticise him about.

Things livened up slightly after the break and Valencia, always looking more likely to score, missed their best chance when former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi blasted over the bar from close range.

A fourth successive winless game and another dire performance, Manchester United's 0-0 Champions League draw with Valencia on Tuesday (Oct 2) extended the club's current crisis and prompted manager Jose Mourinho to question his role in their struggles.

United face Valencia in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Tuesday and ahead of the game Mourinho sent a pointed warning to his squad after a run of three games without a win including a wretched performance in a 3-1 loss at the London Stadium.

"Especially (for) Manchester United fans that I respect 200 percent". "I was not pleased with the result, but it is not a bad result".

"The players tried. They raised the level of their efforts", Mourinho said. Let us know in the comments section below.

United are up against Juventus in their next two Champions League games, as they will host the Italian giants on October 23 before the reverse fixture in Turin on Nov 7. "It will be good for the team if we can beat Newcastle", he said.

"I am sat here surprised he's here after Saturday", he said.

After executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward denied Mourinho the chance to sign a centre-back over the summer, the United boss has continued to criticise his lack of depth at the back in nearly every press conference.

"You would be getting another reason to criticise me, I think you have had enough".
