This Is Why Fortnite Vaulted Those Weapons For Season 6

Fortnite Battle Royale season 6 is finally out!

This time it features a masked cowgirl with the phrase "saddle up". You can access our entire Fortnite wiki here.

Season six of Fortnite introduces the Wailing Woods, a floating Haunted Castle, and Shadow Stones.

One of the biggest changes added to Fortnite in Season 6 is the introduction of a new consumable called Shadow Stones.

In Shadow Form, you won't be able to use weapons, but whenever you stand still, you'll go completely invisible.

You can't use weapons in Shadow Form, but when you do move, you get "increased movement speed, jump height and fall damage immunity".

That isn't the only change to the map though, there's other new locations including a Haunted Castle, Corn Fields and "Corrupted Areas" that have presumably been warped by the purple cube. The storm circle has also been tweaked, reducing the wait time for each time the storm shrinks, though increasing the timer slightly during the shrinking phase.

With a new Battle Pass also comes a plethora of challenges for players to complete and a secret Battle Star to locate.

It's a little disappointing not to have a big event, but these changes feel fun, which is what I most want out of Fortnite. The latest season of the game is launching along with the new Battle Pass, too.

So when will the new Fortnite update arrive today?

Impulse grenades, the silenced submachine gun, the light machine gun, bouncer pads, and remote explosives have all been vaulted. Epic says players using mouse and keyboard on PS4 will "now be put into the PC matchmaking pool".

Full details regarding the new features, performance fixes and more can be found in Epic's patch notes for version 6.00.
