State officials estimate the sales tax holiday will reduce state revenue by up to $16.9 million in 2020. That's because shoppers went shopping over the weekend in droves.
However, this year, she said, there are already middle-aged shoppers who are now shopping and looking to come back during the tax-free weekend to get additional discounts.
Florida shoppers will have the opportunity to not pay normal sales tax on items like school supplies, clothing and accessories.
Virginia and SC will hold theirs starting at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, and ending at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5.

Retailers can not collect sales or use tax during the days on qualifying items.
State Rep. Paula Davis, R-Baton Rouge, who authored Act 1 from the third Special Session of the year, said the sales tax holidays weren't discussed in the debate on her bill "because it was already a dead issue". That includes clothing, shoes, school supplies and some electronics.
But lawmakers could seek to reinstate the sales tax holidays before then beginning in next year's Regular Session.

Some states, New Mexico included, have more than one each year.
"Our Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is another way we are providing relief to Wisconsin's hardworking families", said Governor Walker.
There is no requirement that the purchases be made for school or emergency preparedness purposes, and all retailers are required to participate.
"Due to sound fiscal management and a strong economy, the state had nearly a $400 million budget surplus", said Department of Revenue Secretary Richard Chandler in a statement last week.
"They're losing a ton of money when they do this", Lumley said.
