It appears George Clooney's motorcycle incident was more serious than we thought, as the actor was reportedly thrown 20 feet in the air.

Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera released footage Tuesday that shows the actor's scooter colliding with a Mercedes in Sardinia earlier in the day.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email. According to the authorities, Clooney's scooter collided with the auto.

The Oceans Eleven star was riding his bike at Costa Corallina when he collided with a auto.

Clooney, 57, was then taken to John Paul II hospital after stating he experienced trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm, La Nuova reported.

The accident happened in Sardinia where the USA actor is filming his latest TV series, Catch-22.

According to Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani, the driver of the Mercedes hit Clooney after failing to stop at a turn.

The actor has been living in the luxury Mediterranean spot with his wife, Amal Clooney, and children, while filming TV mini series Catch 22 - based on Joseph Heller's iconic novel.

Clooney, the husband of leading human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney, has a home on the Italian mainland at Lake Como.
