The opening ODI match is expected to be a high scoring game as eight of the top 20 ICC ODI-ranked batsman (Virat Kohli-1, Rohit Sharma-4, Joe Root-6, Shikhar Dhawan-10, Jonny Bairstow-11, MS Dhoni-14, Jos Buttler-16, Jason Roy-20) will be on the show.

England's Test captain watched on as India chased down a target of 199 easily, opener Rohit Sharma hitting an unbeaten century to secure a seven-wicket triumph for the tourists. The veteran cricketer just needs 33 runs more in his kitty when the Men in Blue take on England in the opener of the three-match ODI series. Coming out to bat after Jos Buttler's rare poor show, Hales hit an unbeaten 58 off 41 balls on a slightly hard wicket to help England level the series with a 5-wicket win. The English batsmen have failed to pick him and he has already amassed 18 wickets on the tour including the two T20s against Ireland. "With those wrist spinners in the middle overs, they know they have the skills to make an impact and I thought Kuldeep was outstanding, I don't think I've seen a better ODI spell in some time".

"I started pretty well in the first two overs and luckily I got a couple (of wickets), which really changed the momentum for us".

For the 50-over series, Farbrace will revert to his role as assistant to Trevor Bayliss, who returns to the helm after some time taking in England Lions and county cricket.

"He is making a strong start for himself, as his Chahal; both of them are pretty lethal for us and looking at the English batsmen struggling against them we might be tempted to do that", said Kohli.

Opting to field, Kuldeep Yadav took 6/25 as the visitors restricted Eoin Morgan's side to 268 all out. "Kuldeep had a pretty good day at the office". "Playing spin against India is one challenge that hopefully we will keep improving upon". He had the risky Jason Roy caught out and immediately sent back the lynchpin of the line-up, Joe Root, to peg back England.

Vaughan, who has been part of several thrilling encounters between India and England over the years saw first hand from the commentary box what it was like to face the wrist-spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Roy (38) was caught by Umesh Yadav while Bairstow (38) and Root were trapped lbw in the 13th over.

Root has been in charge of England s Test team for a year, since the 2017 series against South Africa, but the white-ball sides are captained by Morgan. In doing so, he put on 50 off 59 balls with Stokes, yet it was only a part-recovery for England.

But one ball after reaching his fifty, the left-hander tried to reverse sweep Kuldeep only for debutant Siddarth Kaul to hold an excellent catch.

The devastating Rohit rattled off a century with a stunning six after seeing Jason Roy drop an extremely hard chance when the opener was on 92.
