A man was shot and rushed to the hospital after a confrontation with police inside the lobby of Trump National Golf Resort in Doral early Friday morning.
In a statement on Twitter, the Doral Police Department says no one was wounded in the incident and there is no further threat. Those residents are now back home and the suspect's apartment is on lockdown while police get a search warrant. He said officers from Doral and Miami-Dade confronted him immediately and exchanged gunfire with the man who was "neutralized" and taken into custody.
"He did succeed (in luring police), and he did lose", Perez said.
Senior officers told USA news a "confrontation" with a man at the resort escalated and police shot the man.
The man fired shots into the ceiling and waited for officers to arrive, he said.
The officers shot Oddi multiple times in the lower body, according to police. Oddy was injured and transported to Kendall Regional Medical Center for gunshot wounds to the leg, WSVN reports. Oddi is in stable condition, according to Miami-Dade police.
He said officers at the scene "did not hesitate for one second to engage this individual who was actively shooting in the lobby of the hotel". The suspect was armed with a handgun and had draped an American flag over a counter in the resort lobby.

The golf resort previously known as the Doral Resort & Spa was purchased by the Trump Organization in 2012.
