Tax returns show Cynthia Nixon, wife made $1.9 million dollars a year ago

Democratic challenger Cynthia Nixon on Friday made her 2017 tax returns available for public viewing, while Republican Marc Molinaro did so on Thursday.

Voters say 67 percent to 29 percent that Cuomo has strong leadership qualities, voters say 67 percent to 29 percent.

"Instead of unleashing more desperate, unhinged attacks on charities for low-income New Yorkers, Andrew Cuomo should focus on cleaning up the corrupt cesspool he's presided over in Albany, and return every dollar of the millions in conservative, corporate money he's gobbled up".

The couple also contributed $500 to the Friends of Montauk Library.


"Team Nixon was not about to take that lying down", CBS2's Marcia Kramer reported.

Shortly after, Ms. Nixon's camp shot back, calling Mr. Cuomo a "corrupt hypocrite" for not disclosing his tax return in 2010, when he made his first successful run for governor.

"The old days you guys would never tolerate the non-release of taxes, right?" Nixon is married to Christine Marinoni, who left her job in New York City government this year.

That amount included $15,000 for the Public Policy and Education Fund, the not-for-profit research and public education affiliate of Citizen Action of NY, which endorsed Nixon.


Hours before Molinaro released his 2017 filings, Cuomo's campaign said the Republican candidate, who has held public office since he was a teenager, should release the past 10 years of his tax returns. Cuomo's tax returns have shown in the past $700,000 in revenue from a book deal with publisher HarperCollins.

Ms. Nixon gave $52,875 in charitable donations, personally or through her foundation, in 2017.

"Cynthia readily admits that she has been very fortunate, and is now among the higher earners in the state", said Rebecca Katz, a senior strategist to Ms. Nixon's campaign. He paid about $55,000 in state and federal income taxes and gave $11,000 to a charity for the homeless that he founded over 30 years ago. The Andrew Cuomo fossil fuel power plant would provide heat and cooling to the State Capitol and the Empire State Plaza. Questions are being raised about political contributions to Mayor Bill de Blasio by Nixon's wife while she worked for the Department of Education.

"I paid all my taxes", Molinaro said.
