Google also recently launched its smart speaker series, Google Home and Google Home Mini, in India at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499 respectively. Furthermore, they can simply use voice commands to shop online and add items to their carts.

According to the report from AFTVNews, the Fire TV Cube will have numerous same features of Amazon's Echo smart speaker built in, including microphones so you can speak with Alexa, a speaker for music and responses, and an LED light that mimics the top of an Echo.

As a launch offer, Echo Spot can be availed at a discounted price of Rs 10,499 on Amazon India. Through these, users can utilise Echo Spot's screen to watch cricket highlights, see recipes, view cab options and booking details, see the latest horoscope and astrology videos, discover restaurants, etc. Priced at Rs 12,999 the Amazon Echo Spot comes with a display and a camera for video calls.

There are no reports on what the device's actual functions would be but some speculate it could be similar to a mobile Alexa, capable of following users around their house and doing chores, but not a "robot butler".

Voice-controlled music streaming with multi-room music: Users can listen to music on Echo Spot through its built-in speaker.

The Echo is designed in such a way that it works even in noisy environments because of the integration of seven microphones with beam-forming technology alongside improved noise cancellation. What that means is that it could follow customers in parts of their homes where they now do not have Echo devices, the report adds.

FreeTime lets parents set time limits on how long kids can use the Echo, filter out explicit song lyrics, and add educational or kid-friendly content to the device. Well, it's not exactly new, it's the same Echo Dot you've grown to love over the years. The company claims that they are hands-free and fast. Alexa is the brain behind the Echo devices. Without much more to go on and with no regular Amazon schedule to rely on, we can only wait for the retailer to make its next big step in the smart home market. Echo Spot can browse songs by asking Alexa and can also show or play songs by genre, artiste, decade, composer, film, language and more.

While Amazon's Vesta robot project is still a new one, the demand for such technology in the home is not entirely fresh.
