German Marquez looked sharp right away but it all unraveled after a high fastball ran too far inside and hit Kris Bryant in the helmet.

Christian Villanueva (San Diego Padres - 56.7% Owned) - Villanueva is now riding a 9-game hitting streak and has put up some great numbers so far this season as he is now hitting.345 with 6 HR's and 14 RBI's on the young season.

David Bote replaced Bryant as a pinch runner at first base.

Jose Quintana (2-1) allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

It was the fifth pitch that Bryant faced from Marquez in the at-bat, an immediately after getting hit, he appeared to be a bit woozy.

The Cubs will obliviously be careful with their star play, but as the Cubs do have a day-off tomorrow, I imagine that Bryant will be back in the line up on Tuesday when the Cubs take on the Indians in Cleveland. The Cubs then scored two runs on a groundout to the pitcher hit by Albert Almora Jr. Baez hit a no-doubter to the deepest part of the park in the second inning, and he later tacked on a two-RBI double in the seventh to extend the Cubs' lead.

Chicago leads the Rockies 6-0 in the third inning.

Phillies 3, Pirates 2: Aaron Altherr hit a winning single in the 11th after Andrew Knapp's opposite-field triple off the left-field wall against Rich Rodriguez (0-1).

CARDINALS 9, REDS 2: Kolten Wong and Paul DeJong homered to back Mike Mikolas (3-0), who yielded two runs - one earned - and five hits over seven innings.

Dunn allowed a leadoff walk to Schwarber who advanced to second base on a single hit by Heyward. Philadelphia swept a four-game series against Pittsburgh for the first time since May 12-15, 1994.

But Bryant will be monitored closely, and a missed game or two seems certain.
