Chelsea legend, Marcel Desailly, has warned the club against sacking manager, Antonio Conte.

"But I wanted to play with my team-mates, for the club and the fans".

Chelsea splashed out a club record £70million to land Morata from Real Madrid during the summer and he started his career at Stamford Bridge with a bang after netting seven goals in his first eight games.

Danny Drinkwater will consider his Chelsea future at the end of the season, according to a report.

"'What was working last season with Conte can not suddenly not work this season", Desailly told theDaily Mail.

Therefore, unless there is a dramatic change of circumstances, the only vacancy Conte could fill would be that of the Italian national team coach - the job he walked away from two years ago in order to join the Stamford Bridge outfit. This time they should keep the coach and look to move four to five players on. I like Chelsea. My dream was to come here to play for Chelsea so it's a dream come true.

"Players like [Victor] Moses and [Marcos] Alonso played a magnificent season last year but they were in need of support this year".

'We are Chelsea. We always want to win titles but of course we have to win the FA Cup to finish the season well.

Desailly added that the club's decision to let Matic and Diego Costa go last summer has cost them dearly. And the system of three at the back did not work this season because Conte lost Matic, ' added Desailly.

If the Ivory Coast global arrives at the Stamford Bridge, Drinkwater's game time will take a further hit, given that he is already behind the likes of Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko in the pecking order.
