Schusser, who has led efforts outside the US related to the App Store, iTunes, iBooks, Podcasts and more, is now the vice president of Apple Music & International Content.

With Apple for 14 years, Schusser will relocate to California from the United Kingdom where he led Schusser led iTunes, Apple Music and app teams in 38 worldwide offices. Outside the USA, he helped in the App Store, iTunes' movies and TV portals, iBooks, Apple Podcasts, and more.

The last we heard, Apple Music had surpassed 38 million subscribers back in March. Apple SVP Eddy Cue announced his promotion in a memo earlier this morning.

Schusser, who recently played a key role in Apple's recent $400m acquisition of Shazam - which is now awaiting regulatory approval - will relocate from the United Kingdom to California for the new position.

Also on Wednesday, Sweden-based Spotify doubled down on its partnership with Hulu, saying all of its users will now get access to its ad-free music streaming service, as well as to Hulu's limited-ad subscription TV service. He will also lead global teams in 38 different offices.

That confirmation backs up MBW's analysis from earlier this week, which showed that Apple Music is now outpacing Spotify in terms of global subscriber additions.
