Nokia 9 To Launch With Triple Rear Cameras & In-glass Fingerprint Sensor

The impeccable lineup of smartphones which was teased by HMD Global at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain has been finally launched in India on Android One platform.

Nokia 6, HMD Global's best selling mid-range smartphone from 2017, will be phased out eventually, Times Now has learnt from official sources. Further the device comes in two RAM variants, one with 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM paired with 64GB internal memory.

On many occasions we have talked about the Nokia 9, which will be the phone of high-end of the firm, has even appeared in Geekbench and the FCC certificate.

The phone will be available in black/copper and white/copper colour combinations.


The Nokia 8 Sirocco runs Android 8.0 Oreo and sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) pOLED display with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The handset will provide Qi wireless charging support, which is expected to deliver 60 percent charge in 30 minutes.

In terms of processing power, the Nokia 7 plus comes equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 chipset which is supported by 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. For selfies, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel rear camera with ZEISS optics and low-light capability. Airtel customers will also get an extended free subscription to the Airtel TV app till December 31, 2018 and ICICI bank will offer a 5 percent cashback till May 31, 2018.


The company claims that the device can withstand up to 2 days with its 3800mAh battery pack. On the camera front, there is a 16-megapixel Carl Zeiss rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash. Pre-orders for the same will start from 20 April onwards and will go on sale from 30 April onwards. It will be interesting to see if the 8GB/256GB is the default specification or if the phone comes with multiple options like we often see.

Samsung led overall market with 24.7 per cent share in smartphone category and 20.5 per cent share in feature phone for 2017.

Nokia says each smartphone will stay updated with monthly security updates guaranteed and no unnecessary UI changes or hidden processes eating up battery life or slowing them down. Connectivity options in the phone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, Global Positioning System and a USB Type-C port.
