Google To Launch Low Cost Pixel Phones In Select Markets

Google is reportedly planning to launch a more affordable Pixel phone in July or August, according to a report from the the Economic Times. The mid-range Pixel smartphone could land in India by the end of second quarter of 2018, as the next Pixel flagship will hit the market in October. India is the second largest smartphone market after China, and Google now doesn't sell its Pixel phones in the country.

The Google Home Mini costs just $49 in the United States, whereas the Google Home is retailing for $129. Google Home and Home Mini can also be used to control your smart home products. There were also fixes in the Android runtime and system framework that prevent attackers from bypassing user interaction requirements to gain privileged access to a remote device. The speaker will get your voice when you say Ok, Google or Hey, Google wake words and take summons from you. However, it now appears that Google could be making one of its own.


The mid-range Pixel 3 would sit somewhere between those phones and the high-end Pixels in terms of price.

And if you really want to make a splash in the Indian market, you need to come out with a powerful but affordable smartphone. Always feeling the heat from rivals Amazon and Samsung, the organization is now said to launch the AI-fueled Google Home and Google Home Mini speakers in India.


Google Home Mini is the compact version of Google Home that was launched just past year along with Pixel 2 smartphones. Well, the company will also have to put resources behind distribution and marketing, something that Apple and Samsung have been doing for years. Currently Amazon's entire series of Echo devices is available in India.
