Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospital on the night of September 22, 2016 and passed away on December 5, 2016. This was before she fainted at her residence on September 22nd, 2016. Sasikala said that Jayalalithaa was unwell and called for help when she was in the bathroom on the first floor of her Poes Garden residence. In the days after MGR's death, when Jayalalithaa unable to withstand the humiliation of being pushed from his cortege was toying with the idea of quitting politics, it was Natarajan and Sasikala who gave her emotional support.

In contrary to claims by AIADMK leaders that nobody except Sasikala and her relatives saw Jayalalithaa in the hospital, Sasikala said that Jayalalithaa chaired a meeting with bureaucrats - Rama Mohan Rao, Sheela Balakrishnan, Venkataraman, Ramalingam and Muthukumaraswamy on the issue of Cauvery. Sasikala has also claimed that Jayalalithaa's videos were taken with her permission.

The affidavit further reveals that former Tamil Nadu Governor, C Vidyasagar Rao and AIADMK leaders, O Paneerselvam and Thambi Durai had met Jayalalithaa in hospital in September and October.

Natarajan, as known to most as former late CM J Jayalalithaa's close aide VK Sasikala's husband, was nothing short of a celebrity himself. It was earlier being alleged that nobody was allowed to see Jayalalithaa during this time. The treatment given to Jayalalithaa, the affidavit says, was on the advice of doctors from Apollo as well as AIIMS. To back her claim, Sasikala attached a list of the 20 doctors who had attended to the CM between 2014 and 2016.

According to sources, Sasikala says in the affidavit that after his resignation and her subsequent election as AIADMK's legislature party leader, Mr. Panneerselvam "surrendered before the Central government". Even details of her food consumption were in it, and it has all been submitted to the Commission. Once in the hospital she gradually recovered. However both the leaders have said they were denied access to Jayalalithaa in her three months in hospital. Chinnamma (Sasikala) took care of her well till the last minute.

In the affidavit, Sasikala is learnt to have made charges against current Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, accusing him of "surrendering" to the BJP. "Truth will triumph one day", the driver had told the media.
